How did this website come about?
There are many excellent websites that can help you plan your visit to Scotland, but very few specifically for photographers. You work hard and your free time is precious and we want you to make the best of it.
With that in mind, we have done the hard work of gathering the information so you don’t have to.
Please let us know what you think of the site and, if you have any questions or require more specific information, please get in touch through our contact page. You can subscribe to our newsletter by simply adding your email address at the top of the page.

Why visit Argyll?
The region of Argyll can be found on the western coast of Scotland.
Although it can feel impossibly remote and is often described as a “hidden gem”,  Argyll can easily be reached from the UK motorway network and is less than a one hour drive away from Glasgow International Airport with its growing list of routes.

Argyll has so much to offer the photographer – thousands of miles of rugged coastline, beautiful beaches, 23 inhabited islands, stunning lochs, waterfalls and glens, numerous castles, a rich historic landscape of more than 1,200 Neolithic standing stones, 32 clan seats and incredible photographic opportunities around every corner. Our wildlife includes sea eagles, rare butterflies, red squirrels, beavers, whales and basking sharks to name but a few.

Whether you are a local photographer looking for inspiration, you are planning your holiday here in Argyll or you just want to know more about the area this is the place for you.  We are mobile friendly too so you can take us with you wherever you go!
